British director’s new 10-part series looks at the kidnapping of oil-fortune heir.

British
director Danny Boyle has today (March 15) announced that he will be
releasing a new 10 part TV drama series entitled Trust.
The UK
director is known for his films such as Trainspotting, Steve Jobs and
Slumdog Millionaire, besides curating and producing the opening ceremony
at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

According to Vanity Fair,
Boyle is set to make a return to TV with Trust, a new series looking at
the tragic tale of oil-fortune heir J. Paul Getty III, who was kidnapped
and held ransom for five months in the Calabria mountains near Rome,
Italy. Getty’s ear was hacked off and mailed to a Roman newspaper after
his father, Paul Getty, refused to pay a multi-million dollar ransom
fee.
